Sigma Delta Tau Statement About Threats to Jewish Organizations and the Jewish Community

By SDT Headquarters,

Sigma Delta Tau is appalled by the recent rise in anti-Semitism directed towards the Jewish community, threats to Jewish organizations and destruction of Jewish cemeteries across our country.  We are strongly opposed to these outbursts of anti-Semitism, and all violent forms of racism being faced in dozens of communities. As an organization founded by seven empowered Jewish women with thousands of Jewish collegiate and alumnae members, these threats of aggression are especially saddening.  We are truly thankful that sisters who work for Jewish organizations and at Jewish Community Centers have not been harmed.

Sigma Delta Tau is firmly committed to ensuring that tolerance and acceptance is practiced on campuses and in our communities. We encourage our members to be leaders to help break down stereotypes and stop ignorance.

I am so proud to be a part of an organization that so strongly opposes the actions that have been taken on the Jewish community as well as a variety of others. Being a sister of Sigma Delta Tau has given me the courage and strength to be a leader for what is right.
