Spend the upcoming year working for your sorority as a Leadership Consultant! A Sigma Delta Tau Leadership Consultant acts as an official representative of the National Organization to all undergraduate chapters. This role is a full-time, paid position. Leadership Consultants visit chapters virtually, may travel to chapters to support specified efforts and could temporarily reside at chapters across the country to work on long-term initiatives. In addition to LCs visiting chapters across the country, two of our hires will reside and work in Boca Raton, FL, to establish our new chapter at Florida Atlantic University in the fall!

In your application, you will need to supply the email addresses for your Chapter Advisor and a second individual outside of Sigma Delta Tau (e.g. Fraternity/Sorority Life Advisor, professor, current/previous manager, etc.) to provide recommendations on your behalf. They will be emailed automatically upon submission of your application to provide recommendations.

Sigma Delta Tau will abide by all CDC recommendations and guidelines throughout the 2022-2023 academic year. Applicants should be prepared to remain flexible in accordance with the structure of the position.

Consultant Responsibilities

  • Train Chapter Officers and Committee Chairmen
  • Provide guidance and serve as a mentor to chapter leadership
  • Help chapters execute recruitment (formal/primary, informal, and COB)
  • Carry out the National Policies, and educate chapters on the National Policies
  • Educate undergraduates in all areas of chapter operations and programming
  • Identify chapter deficiencies and assist in solutions development
  • Consult with chapter advisors, recruitment specialists, and regional directors
  • Represent Sigma Delta Tau to university administrators
  • Assist the Extension Team (when applicable)
  • Serve as a public relations ambassador
  • Work with the local college Panhellenic
  • Submit written reports, time sheets, and expense reports in a timely manner
  • Develop new resource materials for the national organization
  • Plan and facilitate time accordingly during scheduled chapter visits
  • Represent the national organization at regional and national conferences (when applicable)
  • Serve as liaison between the local chapter and National Volunteers/Headquarters
  • Serve as an educator, spokesperson, and advisor

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must be a member of Sigma Delta Tau in good standing
  • Advanced customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, & Office 365
  • Demonstrates leadership skills through undergraduate experience
  • Demonstrates strong values and ethical decision-making
