Emily Freed

National President

Emily previously as National Secretary/Treasurer. In this role, she worked to implement elements of the strategic plan related to the National Office, including a total overhaul of the organization’s operational and financial processes and systems. Prior to this role, Emily served as Vice President, Chapter Services, where she worked directly with our chapter services coordinators and advisors to ensure that our collegiate chapters had the necessary training and support for their chapter operations. Before joining the National Board in 2016, Emily previously served as Chapter Advisor, Chapter Services Coordinator, Volunteer Education and Development, Convention Logistics Chair, Think Tank Team member, New Member Programming Chairman, Ritual Chairman and Retention Training and Education Chairman. Emily is a double “Boilermaker!” She has an undergraduate degree in public relations and political science, as well as a master’s degree in regulatory and quality compliance. Emily has worked for Stryker, a global medical technology company, for 17 years. Currently, she is Director, Quality Management Systems. She lives in Kalamazoo, Michigan with her husband, Brad, and two standard poodles, Alice and Ezra.

Jillian Gallagher

National Vice President

Jillian served as a National Vice President on the 2020-2022 Board of Directors overseeing the area of recruitment. She started working with the National Organization as a Leadership Consultant, fresh off of her senior superlative win as “Most ObsesSDT.” She then went on to serve a variety of roles including serving on the Consultant Advisory Team, numerous strategic planning committees, National Advisor to Beta Pi— University of Rochester and Kappa—University of Illinois, Recruitment Specialist to Delta Epsilon— Emory University, Kappa Chapter Housing Corporation, piloting the Leadership Development Director Role in the Midwest Region and facilitating SDT’s first international service trip to Thailand. She also very much enjoys the occasional extension or recruitment visit for other chapters, as well as facilitating Elevate and Safe Smart Dating. During the pandemic, she decided to go back to school and put her B.S. in kinesiology to good use. She will graduate with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Arcadia University in 2023. Jillian lives in Chicago with her husband Jonathan and their rescue pups Winston and Reilly.

Amy Rodnick

National Vice President

Amy has served on the National Council for 10 years. During this time, her priority to help chapters and collegiate members have meaningful and successful sorority experiences was carried through in her roles. Her passion for mentoring and building strong relationships with our members led to positions as National Advisor, Chapter Services Coordinator, New Chapter Services Coordinator, Housing Corporation President and currently National Vice President. Amy also served as a Regional Model Task Force Lead, Convention Programming Chair and Convention Co-Chair. Amy earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Michigan. Professionally, she is a Senior Territory Account Manager at Vifor Pharma. In her free time, Amy is a dance mom extraordinaire and enjoys traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends. Amy lives in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with her husband, Adam, and their two legacies, Emily and Jillian.

Meredith Tiras Mitnick

National Vice President

Meredith is a double Trojan with two BAs and her MBA with an emphasis in leadership and organizational effectiveness and marketing and brand strategy from the University of Southern California. Meredith is also a certified professional in human resources and a certified meeting planner. She is the Founder of MRM Career Coaching where she helps women navigate the job search and pivot to careers they love. She is excited for the opportunity to continue applying her passion and experience in leadership development and event planning to her role as SDT National Vice President! Meredith served as a National Vice President on the 2020-2022 Board of Directors and previously served as the SDT National Secretary/Treasurer, Centennial Co-Chair, Fundraising Chair, Convention Chair, Volunteer Development Coordinator, Leadership School Co-Chair and Chapter Advisor. Meredith served locally as President of both the Mu Chapter Housing Corporation and the SoCal Alumnae Association. She also traveled for SDT as a Leadership Consultant. Meredith lives in Los Angeles, California with her husband, Benjamin (a proud SAM alum) and their SDT and SAM legacies, Layla and Eli.

Daryn Foster

National Vice President

Daryn previously served as Regional Director for the New England Region, Chapter Advisor to Gamma Mu—Northeastern University and Co-Convention Chair. In her Regional Director role, she works collaboratively with advisors and chapters to ensure each member’s experience is reflective of our organization’s values. As Co-Convention Chair, she has spearheaded all speakers, programming, communications and technology. Prior to these roles, Daryn served as CLT Chair, Elevate Facilitator, Strategic Plan Creation Committee, Sponsorship/Fundraising Chair and Diamond Banquet Chair. Daryn graduated from our Gamma Mu chapter at Northeastern University with an undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. She works at J.Crew as a Senior Manager of Digital Marketing and has been at J.Crew Group for over 10 years. She lives in New York City with her husband Alex.

Kimmi Teller

National Vice President

Kimberly, “Kimmi,” previously served as the Leadership Development Director to the New Jersey Region and Co-Convention Chair. In her role as a Leadership Development Director, Kimmi is responsible for the overall recruitment and retention of regional volunteers and partners with the Regional Director to ensure the needs of the region are met with proper advisors, specialists, training and content support. As Co-Convention chair, she oversees all Convention logistics, including budgets, sponsorships, and alumnae and volunteer experience. Prior to these roles, Kimmi served as a Chapter Advisor, Scholarship Chairman, a member of the Alumnae Relations Team, Strategic Planning LDC Team, Advisor Training Task Force and co-chaired Centennial Special Initiation. Kimmi also spearheaded the creation of the Order of Lapis honor society and wrote the national induction ceremony. Her professional background is in nonprofit management, specifically in fundraising and board and volunteer management. Currently, she oversees young alumni giving and engagement for an independent boarding school in New Jersey. Kimmi earned her master’s in nonprofit administration arts administration from New York University in 2017 and a BA from Rutgers University in 2014. She lives in Plainsboro, New Jersey with her soon-to-be husband, Tyler, and their King Charles cavalier, Bailey.

Leslie Herman

National Secretary/Treasurer

Leslie previously served as Regional Director for the Upstate East region. Previously, she served as a Chapter Advisor as well as Chapter Services Coordinator, Government Relations Chair, Strategic Planning Long Term Financial Stability Lead, Council Meeting Planning Chair, Bylaws Committee member and Think Tank member. Leslie is a proud graduate of Emory University, where she earned an undergraduate degree in political science and biology followed a few years later by a master’s degree focused on health policy from Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. Leslie currently works as the Quality Improvement Specialist for Housing Works, an organization working to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS in New York City. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, Joshua, and son, Jackson. 

Jess Ryan

Panhellenic Officer

Jessica holds a B.A. from University of South Florida where she joined SDT and a M.Ed. with focus in higher education student affairs from the University of West Florida. Jessica also completed certifications in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace (USF), Program Design (LTS), QPR Suicide Prevention, Anti-Violence Advocate (Penn), Hazing Prevention (HPO) and completed Excel Summit for FSL Directors (Rise Partnerships). She works at the University of Pennsylvania as the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Leadership Community and is the Lead Curriculum Designer for the Parallel Agency. Jessica is an active volunteer in Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors (AFA) and National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) as a current RFM Specialist. She is excited for the opportunity to continue applying her passion and experience in the field of fraternity and sorority life to her role as SDT Panhellenic Officer! In her 9+ years volunteering with SDT, Jess previously served as the Regional Director, Panhellenic Committee, Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee, Recruitment Co-Chair and Recruitment Specialist, Philanthropy Committee and Alternative Break Chair, Convention and Leadership School Teams, Strategic Planning Meaningful Customized Experiences Lead and Leveraging our Jewish Heritage Committee member, and SDT Foundation Trustee. Jess lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her husband, Patrick and their son Bray, and loves to continue her talent and passion for visual art through her Etsy shop and the local Philadelphia area.

Margaux Manley Lima

Immediate Past National President and NPC Council of Delegates

Margaux began her service to the National Organization immediately after college when she served as a Leadership Consultant. Her 17-year tenure as an SDT volunteer on the National Council included roles such as National Advisor, Recruitment Chair, Leadership School Co-Chair, Convention Chair and member of the extension committee. Margaux has served on the Board of Directors for the past 12 years as National President and National Vice President overseeing leadership programs, training and development, collegiate programming, alumnae engagement and extension. Her professional background is in higher education, and she has worked at a number of institutions in the state of Florida. Margaux earned her doctorate in higher education from The George Washington University in 2014, and holds an M.S. in student affairs from Florida State University and a B.A. in English and psychology from the University of Miami (She makes it a point to only attend institutions that have chapters of SDT!). Originally from Miami, Margaux now lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband Jorge and their two legacies Catalina and Marina.
