Black History Month
February 1, 2022 - February 28, 2022
February Is Black History Month
In 1926, Carter G. Woodson and the (what is now known as) Association for the Study of African American Life and History sponsored a national Negro History Week in February. Since then, the event has grown to a month-long celebration of the achievements of Black Americans and recognizing their central role in U.S. history. Since 1976, every U.S. president has designated it Black History Month.
