Every two years, Sigma Delta Tau gathers to conduct Society business and celebrate sisterhood at our National Convention. These special gatherings are an opportunity for education, connection and celebration.

Every chapter is required to send two delegates to the Biennial Convention – your Chapter President and Vice President of Membership Recruitment. National Volunteers, alumnae, and additional collegians are strongly encouraged to attend.
Any National Volunteers serving in the 2026-2028 biennium are expected to attend National Convention.
Please note: Collegiate Delegates and National Council volunteers (Board, Directors, Coordinators, Advisors, and Past National Presidents) have voting privileges during the business meeting.
Registration opens on March 20 and closes May 8. We encourage you to register as soon as possible!
All attendees will register through the SDT Portal. For any issues with accessing the SDT Portal, please email locull@sigmadeltatau.org.
Once you’ve logged into the SDT Portal, click the Convention 2026 icon on your homepage to register that is appropriate to your position. If you are registering as a Chapter President or Vice President of Membership Recruitment (or as a replacement for one of these positions), please select “President and VPMR Registration- Convention 2026.” If you are registering as a collegiate attendee IN ADDITION to your chapter’s required delegates, please select “Additional Collegiate Attendee Registration- Convention 2026.”
Registration for Presidents and VPMRs is $100/delegate. Registration for each additional collegian is $450/member. Your registration fee covers your hotel room, most meals, and full registration for Convention.
Attendees will need a debit/credit card at the time of registration to pay the registration fee.
All attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to National Convention.
Chapter Presidents and VPMRs are eligible to receive a reimbursement up to $300 each for travel costs. We recommend the chapter pays for the ticket and then submits for reimbursement by the National Office. Instructions for reimbursement will be provided in your convention registration confirmation email. Reimbursement can be requested as soon as travel arrangements are made. Receipts are required for reimbursement.
Additional collegiate attendees will not be provided a travel stipend; travel costs should be covered by the chapter.
The following additional costs should be considered and covered by the chapter for collegiate attendees:
Registration for National Volunteers is $275/person. Your registration fee covers your hotel room, most meals, and full registration for Convention.
Registration for alumnae is $550/person. Your registration fee covers programming and meals. A hotel room is NOT covered by the registration fee. Alumnae attendees are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements.
All attendees are responsible for making their own travel arrangements to National Convention.
National Council (Board, Directors, Coordinators, Advisors, and PNPs) and Membership Recruitment Specialists are eligible to receive reimbursement up to $250 each for travel costs. Instructions for reimbursement will be provided in your convention registration confirmation email. Reimbursement can be requested as soon as travel arrangements are made. Receipts are required for reimbursement.
Non-voting volunteers and alumnae will not receive a travel stipend.
Convention will be held at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. (1001 16th St NW, Washington, DC 20036).
We encourage members coming from the Northeast to consider Amtrak. Prices are very reasonable, and arrival times vary, leaving opportunity for you to explore D.C. before or after Convention. The closest Amtrak station to the hotel is Washington Union Station (WAS, 50 Massachusetts Ave NE). It’s about a 10-minute taxi/rideshare ride from the station to the hotel.
The closest airport to Washington D.C. is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). The airport is approximately a 15-minute drive from the hotel depending on traffic. Uber, Lyft, and local taxis are readily available at the airport and can drop you directly at the hotel entrance. The hotel does not offer an airport shuttle. Attendees may also choose to take the Metro/Blue Line directly from DCA to the McPherson Square station. The hotel is approximately a two-block walk from the station.
Please note: parking and ride-share services to and from the airport are not reimbursable travel expenses.
National Convention officially begins on June 18th! On-site registration opens at noon.
National Convention will conclude with the Diamond Banquet on Saturday evening, June 20th. There is no programming on Sunday, so attendees are able to leave at their convenience on Sunday.
The weekend will consist of a balance of education/programming, official Sigma Delta Tau business, celebration of individual and chapter award winners, and many opportunities to meet and connect with Sigma Delta Tau sisters from all over the country. A full schedule will be available in the official Sigma Delta Tau convention app. Attendees are expected to participate in all programming and events.
On travel days, attendees are encouraged to wear Sigma Delta Tau apparel. During convention programming, attendees should wear business casual with your Torch pin. During on-site registration, attendees will be provided an official Convention t-shirt to be worn Friday. Attendees are encouraged to wear cocktail attire for the Diamond Banquet Saturday evening.
As you’re packing, make sure to pack your Torch pin, cash/credit card for breakfast and purchasing any items from the SDT Boutique, and a light sweater or jacket. Please leave your leggings, ripped denim, low-cut tops and dresses, and mini-skirts at home.
Chapter Presidents – don’t forget to pack your black robe for the business meeting!
Keeping the health, safety, and peace of mind of our sisters, staff, and guests is our top priority. Safety precautions and attendee expectations will be communicated to all attendees leading up to and throughout National Convention. We ask that all attendees monitor their health; if you are sick, we ask that you do not attend Convention.

If you need to cancel your registration for any reason, you will be responsible for any cost incurred by the SDT National Organization. This may include hotel, meals, merchandise, programming, and any reimbursed travel expenses. For delegates, the chapter will be billed on behalf of the attendee. Volunteers will be invoiced directly. Please contact tmkinder@sigmadeltatau.org if you cannot attend or if you’d like to transfer a collegiate registration to a different attendee. No refunds will be given for your registration fee.
