Our History
The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation became a reality at the 1960 SDT Convention with approval to establish our organization to channel contributions for philanthropic investment. The Foundation has advanced as the needs of our sisters have changed, increasing our focus on investing in our sisterhood. We take pride in our partnership with the SDT Sorority to ensure our sisters have access to personal and professional opportunities that help women succeed.
In 2022, the Sigma Delta Tau Foundation surpassed one million dollars directly invested into our sisterhood. This milestone includes financial assistance for sisters through initiatives including our national scholarship program, One Hope hardship grants and annual program grants to help the SDT sorority provide impactful member experiences. The ripple effect is even greater as financial assistance from the Foundation has eased the burden for sisters, parents, chapters and our beloved sorority.
The Foundation Today
Foundation continues to grow our impact thanks to generous donors who make it possible for our organization to be there for our women with financial support, high-quality programs and life-changing experiences. Together with our donors, we are carrying the torch from generation to generation.
