The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation is committed to encouraging the growth of its members, both collegians and alumnae, by supporting educational programs.
To achieve our goals, the SDT Foundation promotes:
- Funding scholarships and grants for individual sisters and sorority initiatives.
- Academic excellence through educational programming.
- Sponsorship of leadership development and empowering sister initiatives.
The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation was founded in 1963 as a separate not-for-profit corporation. The Foundation is committed to encouraging the growth of its members, both collegians and alumnae, by supporting educational and philanthropic endeavors.
The Foundation Board of Trustees is comprised of 12-15 SDT sisters. The trustees are elected by the Board for staggered terms of office. The trustees oversee the work of the Foundation. The Board meets annually and operates independently from the Sorority Board of Directors.
Through their work the Foundation has given over a half a million dollars to our sisters primarily through our scholarship program and leadership development support.
The Foundation is able to provide these services through the generous support of the members of Sigma Delta Tau. An average of fifteen scholarships is awarded each year to undergraduate and graduate students.
Grants are given to the National Sorority for educational and leadership programs.
