Thankful to be ΣΔT!

As sisters of Sigma Delta Tau, we are all thankful for everything that the sorority has given us. Personally, I’m thankful to be a part of a national organization that has helped women live to their fullest potential for 100 years; a fact that I find truly inspiring.thankfultobesdt_blog

Here’s what some of our members nationwide are most thankful for:

 

  1. We’re thankful for the home we’ve gained while away at school.

  2. We’re thankful for all that being part of a national organization has taught us.

As a volunteer for SDT, I continue to grow in my knowledge working with college students and am lucky to have the opportunity to serve alongside our undergraduate sisters each year during the Alternative Spring Break service immersion trip.     “I came to College of Charleston from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and when I came I didn’t know a single person in South Carolina. I was so excited I didn’t even realize I was starting my life completely over. My first semester, I joined Sigma Delta Tau and the chapter has given me not only the friends I wanted but the sisters I needed. These girls pushed me to better myself, gave me the truth even when I didn’t want it, and were there when I was scared no one would be.     “I’m thankful I found SDT a year ago when I transferred to Rutgers. I did not know anyone coming here and had no intentions of rushing but went out of my comfort zone and rushed with no expectations and I’m so happy I did it.   37. We’re thankful that this sisterhood has been around since 1917!
    “I’m thankful that for 100 years Sigma Delta Tau has given women like me opportunities to lead. The skills I learned as chapter president — listening, problem solving and conflict resolution — have served me well throughout my career. I’m now the CEO of an educational software company with more than 500 employees. I use what I learned from working with people through my sorority experience every day.
