Communications Coordinator

Position Title: Communications Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Communications
Location: Remote or Carmel, Indiana
Salary: $45,000-$48,000

In This Role, You Will: 

  • Source and create content for social media, newsletters, the Torch magazine, website, etc.
  • Create graphics and materials for use on social media, in digital newsletters and other initiatives
  • Organize and manage the library of photos, graphics, logos and other files
  • Plan and execute the social media strategy for various social media platforms alongside the Director of Communications
  • Update website content and imagery as requested
  • Assist our team in crisis communication support and response
  • Contribute to the creative process with staff and volunteer team members on various initiatives
  • Participate in and contribute to the broader industry through relevant associations and conferences
  • Assist with in-person and or virtual Sigma Delta Tau events and presentations as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (communications, marketing, public relations, etc.)
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in marketing or communications
  • Strong copywriting and editing skills (Proficiency in Associated Press (AP) Style is preferred)
  • Expertise with social media platforms
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) is a plus
  • Familiarity in web content management and email marketing platforms
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Excellent organization and task/project prioritization skills
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
