Women for Women International provides direct financial and emotional support to women living in war-torn regions of the globe, supporting those females with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training and rights education so they can rebuild their lives. Since its creation, Women for Women International has empowered over 175,000 women survivors of war to move toward economic self-sufficiency. They have distributed over $50 million in direct aid, microcredit loans, and other program services. Since 1993, Women for Women International has mobilized women in 105 countries worldwide to reach out and support women survivors of war – one woman at a time.
Sigma Delta Tau is proud to partner with Women for Women International, an organization supporting women in war-torn regions with financial and emotional aid, job-skills training, rights education and small business assistance so they can rebuild their lives. This association mobilizes women to change their lives by bringing a holistic approach to addressing the unique needs of women in conflict and post-conflict environments.
SDT and our alumnae volunteers proudly sponsor women in Afghanistan, Iraq, Kosovo, Rwanda or Congo through financial contributions. In addition, members of our Collegiate Leadership Team have written letters to our sponsored women, offering connection and support.
