HQ’s Staff Is Growing!

By Sara Puppala,

Sigma Delta Tau’s staff has grown in several new and exciting ways over the summer, and we are eager to share more about the three recent additions to our National Office staff!

Alexis Karwoski is the Director of Risk Management and Programming at Sigma Delta Tau. Originally from North Aurora, Illinois, Alexis graduated from Purdue University with degrees in psychology, law and society and forensic science. Following graduation, Alexis served for two years as a Resident Leadership Development Consultant (LDC) for her own NPC organization, Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women, primarily assisting with extension projects and new chapter support. Her experience an LDC helped her to realize her passion for supporting collegians’ personal and leadership development and ultimately led her to Indiana University to pursue her M.S.Ed. in higher education and student affairs. After earning her master’s degree, Alexis continued to work at Indiana University within sorority and fraternity life. Alexis was responsible for advising the Panhellenic Association executive council officers and chapter leaders, overseeing the organization conduct process in partnership with the Office of Student Conduct, cultivating partnerships with international volunteers and sorority/fraternity headquarters staff, and supporting educational programming and initiatives.

Alexis currently lives in Bloomington, Indiana with her sweet pup, Bellatrix. Alexis is an active volunteer in several organizations, including Pi Beta Phi, the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values, and Mannered Mutts Rescue. In her free time, Alexis enjoys hiking with her family, reading, puzzling and working out at Orangetheory Fitness.

Alexis is passionate about empowering women while creating inclusive and transformative student learning experiences. She is most excited to be working for an organization whose staff, alumnae and dedicated volunteers are committed to doing the same. You can contact her for support or with questions regarding chapter conduct, risk management/accountability education and educational programming.

Haley Cahill-Teubert is the Director of Communications at Sigma Delta Tau. She graduated with a degree in communications with a concentration in journalism from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where she joined Alpha Omicron Pi. Upon graduation, Haley joined the AOII staff in Nashville, Tennessee as an Assistant Director of New Chapter Development. She worked with chapters five years in age and younger. She then transitioned to AOII’s communications department and served as the Assistant Director of Communications, where she was the editor of the organization’s magazine, To Dragma, and oversaw the creation, revision and distribution of newsletters, resources and other communications pieces. During her time in that role, AOII was proud to win several awards at the Fraternity Communications Association annual conferences for their magazine, blog, newsletters, website and resources. In 2019, Haley joined the staff at Phired Up, where she provided recruitment and retention education to Panhellenic chapters on campuses across the country and at industry conferences such as AFA and AFLV. Haley joined the SDT staff in June and is excited to be back in the communications realm of the industry.

Haley lives in West Virginia with her husband, Chris, and their corgi, Nash. They are expecting their first child in November. When she isn’t working, Haley loves to cook, travel and read. She is also an exercise enthusiast and is a certified personal trainer, women’s fitness specialist and certified boxing trainer.

Haley is passionate about sharing the value of the sorority experience through various communications initiatives. You can contact her with questions regarding communications strategy/planning, media requests, branding, social media management, the Torch and newsletters.

Taylor Moreau-Kinder is the Director of Operations at Sigma Delta Tau. She graduated with a degree in education from Indiana University after completing her student teaching in Navajo Nation. After teaching and working in logistics, she joined the staff of Zeta Beta Tau, where she managed the office, assisted in event planning, oversaw membership and the database, managed invoicing and assisted in chapter servicing.  In her new role, she brings her multiple years in office operations, logistics and finance to the Director of Operations position, where she oversees the areas of finance and membership. Taylor is excited about working for an organization dedicated to the empowerment of women from diverse backgrounds.

Taylor currently lives in Noblesville, Indiana with her husband, James, and her two dogs and cat.  In her free time, she runs logistics for a non-profit spay and neuter organization that supports the Navajo Reservation and is an avid runner. Taylor is even a Boston Marathon qualifier. When she is not running or volunteering, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading and being on her road bike.
