Elevate 2023 FAQ

What is Elevate?

Elevate is a one-day virtual leadership conference that brings together collegiate members from all Sigma Delta Tau chapters for an opportunity to grow as leaders and develop skills to apply to their Sigma Delta Tau experience and beyond. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from industry and subject-matter experts and engage with other participants through a variety of session formats, including a keynote speaker, facilitated workshops, and action-planning sessions. Educational sessions will focus on purposeful topics specific to student’s personal and leadership development, including but not limited to the concepts of relationship building and collaboration, inclusive leadership, goal-setting, leadership skills development, resilience, and wellness.

What is the purpose of Elevate?

  • Provide a space for collegian members to develop leadership skills that can be used in personal and professional spaces
  • Enhance our collegians’ leadership strategies to improve team dynamics and performance
  • Allow for campus leaders and aspiring leaders to network and meet like-minded sisters, while building affinity for the National Organization
  • Demonstrate Sigma Delta Tau’s commitment to the member experience and each member’s leadership development

When is Elevate?

Elevate will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 from 9:45 a.m. ET – 3:30 p.m. ET.

When is registration?

Registration is open from November 15, 2022 to February 15, 2023. There is no registration fee to attend Elevate 2023. Any attendee who registers by January 1 will receive a SWAG bag!

Is Elevate free for collegians to attend?

Yes! There is no registration fee to attend Elevate 2023. There are, however, fees that may be invoiced to the chapter dependent upon registration and attendance. 

How do I register?

To register, collegiate members should log into the SDT Portal and select their chapter in the upper right-hand corner. Then, select “Elevate Registration.”

What is the attendance and registration policy?

Each chapter must send at least 10 members to Elevate 2023. If a chapter does not have at least 10 members register for Elevate, the chapter will be invoiced $20/member per spot not filled. If a member registers for the conference and does not attend, the chapter will be invoiced $40/no-show member. Each member will acknowledge the Elevate 2023 registration policy which includes possible fees to be invoiced to their chapter when submitting their registration form.

Who should attend Elevate?

This program is open to all undergraduate chapter members interested in attending leadership programming! Each chapter is expected to send 10 members, who may be any mixture of chapter leaders, emerging/aspiring leaders, and members involved in Panhellenic and/or campus organizations. The curriculum throughout the day is intended to inspire collegians to help them build transferable leadership skills that they can apply within SDT and beyond.

What is the schedule?

This one-day virtual program will include a keynote speaker, educational sessions and time for action-planning. The educational sessions will include dynamic presenters with purposeful topics specific to students’ personal and leadership development, including but not limited to the concepts of relationship building and collaboration, inclusive leadership, goal-setting, leadership skills development, resilience and wellness. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose which educational session breakouts to attend based on their interests.

How will attendees access sessions throughout the day?

We will be utilizing two primary pieces of technology to facilitate virtual engagement – a virtual platform Socio, as the central location to find information about the event and Zoom for some video components. As a registered attendee, you will receive an invitation to access Socio Elevate. It is important that you register for the platform as this is how you will be able to view the event schedule, access Zoom links to sessions, and network with other attendees.

Should I expect to be on camera during sessions?

Yes! We want you to get to know and make connections with your fellow sisters across the country.

What should I wear for Elevate?

Show off your school pride! We encourage all attendees to wear a shirt from their college or university. There may be a prize for the most school spirit…

Are sessions going to be live or pre-recorded so I can watch them later?

All sessions will be live and all registered attendees should plan to be in attendance and on time.
